Cen Group donated VND 5 billion to the COVID-19 vaccine fund

Vietnam’s national COVID-19 vaccine fund was launched at a ceremony in Hanoi on June 5 evening. Cen Group sponsored VND 5 billion for the fund, joining hands with the government earlier in efforts to purchase Covid-19 vaccines.

The Government on February 26 issued Resolution No 21/NQ-CP regarding COVID-19 vaccine purchase and use. The fund is designed to call on support from all of society, businesses, people inside and outside of the country and international organisations. The fund will be used for buying Covid-19 vaccines from abroad and for supporting the production of made-in-Vietnam vaccines.

Covid-19 vaccine fund was officially inaugurated on June 5, with an aim to mobilise social resources so as to facilitate the purchase and importation of vaccines as well as the research and production of homegrown ones. The fund is to help Vietnam cope with the pandemic in the long run as people need to be vaccinated every year. Vietnam aims to secure 150 million doses of vaccines to immunize 75 million of its population this year, and the cost is estimated at VND25.2 trillion.

Through Hearts of Gold Foundation, Cen Group donated 100,000 protective suits to Bac Giang worth more than VND 3 billion; VND 200 million to Dien Bien provincial Children Protection Fund to support children in Nam Po, Muong Pon; over 1 million antibacterial masks worth VND 10 billion, and more.

 

Since the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, Cen Group donated VND 5 billion to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC); VND 1 billion to the Central region; about 17 tons of rice to support low-income people; medical equipment to hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; VND 250 million for the frontline against the deadly Covid-19 pandemic via dtinews in "Van la chan yeu thuong", just to name a few.
